Trevalgan provides the perfect location for a wide range of walks with your pooch, right from your cottage door.
Our top tips for dog-walking in Cornwall:
- Check whether beaches have seasonal dog restrictions (many apply May–September).
- Carry plenty of water, especially on exposed coastal paths.
- Keep dogs on leads near livestock and cliff edges.
- Some of the best spots have limited parking, so an early start helps.

- Make sure to factor in cake to keep your energy levels up!
Some of our favourite dog-friendly walks directly from Trevalgan:
St. Ives
This walk from Trevalgan to St Ives offers two options: an easy footpath, or a more scenic route along the South West Coast Path. The walk provides gorgeous views whichever way you decide to take. Once you make it into St Ives you can make the most of the dog-friendly restaurants before your walk back.
Top tip – During the summer if you don’t fancy the return journey by foot you can get the campsite bus right back to the farm.
Zennor
If you fancy a longer, more challenging country walk featuring a pub then this one’s for you! This walk is a challenging one. However, it is so worth it when you reach the Tinners Arms in Zennor.
If you don’t fancy the walk back, the bus stops at the end of Trevalgan Lane (on request). Or if your four-legged friend still has energy to spare, why not take the scenic route home!
River Cove
This coastal dog walk from Trevalgan Farm to River Cove combines countryside paths with stunning scenery. Following sections of the South West Coast Path, the walk leads to a secluded cove where you can enjoy the dramatic coastal views. If you’re lucky you may even spot a seal or two!
Rosewall Hill
The walk from Trevalgan to Rosewall hill offers incredible panoramic views over the north Cornish coast and the countryside. The route climbs gently through farmland and open landscape giving dogs plenty of space to explore. You firstly reach the top of Trevalgan hill offering your first taste of the incredible views. Once you arrive at the top of Rosewall you can enjoy views towards St Ives, Zennor and the Atlantic.
Make sure you remember a dog lead as you need to cross over the road to get from Trevalgan hill over to Rosewall.
Trevail
A peaceful countryside walk from Trevalgan to Trevail takes you through quiet lanes and rural paths. Offering a gentle route ideal for a quick dog walk in the morning or on a warm summer evening. This one is great for avoiding traffic and embracing the countryside, perfect for dogs (and owners) who love some peace and quiet.
